Sleeping in a Waist Trainer

First, what is waist training? How does it work for your body? Why is waist training so popular among famous Hollywood celebrities like Scarlett Johanssen, Jessica Alba, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Beyoncé, and lot more?

Waist training is literally training your waist for it to become slimmer. In waist training, one uses a training corset, which is usually an hourglass corset. The corset will put pressure on your waist, making it tighter and for you to achieve your desired shape over time. Waist cinchers or training corsets are made of latex with cotton lining. Nowadays, corset makers are trying to innovate it toward more advanced training corsets to fit this generation’s demand.

While wearing a training corset at the gym or during the day is challenging, sleeping with the waist cincher on is even more challenging. What makes it more difficult is the fact that sleep should relax your muscles and your body but with the corset on, that is far from happening. Being able to sleep with the waist training corset does not happen overnight. Why? Because one of the challenges is difficulty in breathing that is caused by the corset tightly wrapped around your body. You have to slowly integrate the corset into your sleeping routine for you to be able to do it in the long term.

1. Stop comparing. Comparing your waist training to others will make it more difficult. If others can sleep with it for 8 hours and you can’t, don’t feel about it. You just have to be patient enough and not push yourself. Believe that you will soon be able to sleep with the corset on for 8 hours, too!

2. Take it off. If at any point you really have to take it off, do it immediately. Difficulty in breathing and severe abdominal pain are a few of the reasons that you should take it off. Having an hourglass shape is really lovely but you don't want to end up feeling weak.

3. Invest in quality garments. If you want your waist training to be effective, then you have to invest in quality corsets. Having the best quality of corsets can help you in achieving that hourglass figure without compromising the quality of your sleep. You need a well-constructed corset that fits well, properly supports your bust, and applies pressure evenly throughout the torso.

4. Take it one step at a time. If you just started wearing a training corset, you shouldn’t expect yourself to wear it for a very long period of time. At the beginning of your waist training, you should wear it for a couple of hours and not very tightly; then, you take it from there. Eventually, you will be comfortable with your desired tightness and you can wear it as long as you want. Let your body accept the change gracefully and gradually rather than stressing it out right away.

5. Enjoy. For you to be able to maximize the results that you want, you have to enjoy the process. Corset training is about loving the process and embracing it. Never forget to listen to your body and be good to yourself and your body.
